<< Return to page 1 - Resumed Stability?

See, no rant today. Every once in a while a guy’s just gotta let loose a little. Here at Seeking Alpha, there were a lot of comments from yesterday’s post and everyone had some good ideas. My mailbox got a little busier as well.

Barring anything unusual, Friday [no guarantees there] should be quiet. The generals on Wall Street have left a few sentinels on duty to maintain stability before the holiday weekend. But, even with stability this will be a lousy week for bulls. What they have going for them is lots of low-yielding cash and itchy trigger fingers. They sure don’t have any positive news to trade on unless oil drops another few dollars, but that would still leave it ridiculously expensive.

Have a pleasant holiday weekend.

I still cant understand why the oil and nat gas stocks have not followed commodity prices higher. It seems when oil went from 127 to 134 they sold off sharply.

Nate, because they're "stocks" and when sell programs kick-in they get sold with everything else in the baskets.

Never apologize for the occasional rant -- especially when they're as insightful as yours are. You are correct though -- it's hard to make money when one's emotions are wrapped around the drive shaft and your head keeps hitting the pavement.

Where all this is concerned, I'm nursing a lightweight investor's dumb question today, embarrassed that I haven't been able to find the answer by customary internet searching: Sites like Kitco.com provide a reputable and near-definitive worldwide precious metals price resource in chart form, NYSE price charts are easy to find, yet nowhere have I learned how to see the current price chart for a widely-followed commodities index such as the CRB Commodities Index. Is it right under my nose? I need a clue! Anyone?

See my query about TBT in the comments on the first page of your column. Great column, you've been missed of late, keep up the good work.
