Omniture (OMTR) is a stock I have often written about and always as a bull. The recent pull back to the $23 level is yet another chance to buy this stock on the cheap.
One of the biggest advantages the company has is that it uses its own storage and servers to track user behavior. So it stores all the transactions and clicks on its servers, information which can enable the company to improve its client's site performance and usability. Moreover, it hardly has any competition in the space (particularly after it bought out its biggest rival, Visual Sciences, last year).
Additionally, the company has branched out into online campaign management and improvement software, which complements its web analytics capabilities.
One final note – I think OMTR is a potential candidate for a buyout from Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) or Oracle (NYSE:ORCL), since both software powerhouses lack presence in online campaign management and web analytics space.
Full Disclosure: I own OMTR but my position can change anytime without notice.
