Thursday's US Market Wrap

Nick Perry (Schaeffer's Investment Research) submits: Here are the final figures:

The SPX, DJIA, and COMP ended with minor losses while the RUT was able to squeak out a small gains...and unless my eyes are deceiving me, that marks a new all-time closing high for the small-cap index:

The overall picture shows a mixed day. Oil services remained strong while the XOI and XNG weakened into the close. Housing stocks held their ground. Gold stocks moved higher in the afternoon. Transports bounced off their lows but still finished firmly in negative territory.

Despite the whipsaw action and pullback, the SPX remains above that support zone we have been watching.
