Earnings Preview: PNC Financial

PNC Financial Services Group (PNC) is expected to report Q2 earnings before market open on Thursday, July 17,  with a conference call scheduled for 10:00 am ET.

Guidance

Analysts are looking for EPS of $1.16 on revenue of $1.85B. The consensus range for EPS is 98c to $1.24, while the consensus range for revenue is $1.76B to $2B, according to First Call.

Analyst Views

Two research firms recently issued somewhat optimistic notes about PNC. Bernstein on July 11 predicted that the bank's results would be "relatively painless." Ladenburg Thalmann on June 23 wrote that PNC's shares may be "severely undersold." However, the firm did reduce their target to $69 from $79 citing macro weakness.
