by: Joan Wickham

Stocks discussed in the lightning round session of Jim Cramer's Mad Money TV program, Wednesday, July 16.

Bullish Calls:

Carnival Corp (NYSE:CCL) -- "I think Carnival Cruise is going to take share. I like Carnival. People are still going on vacations; they're still taking cruises."

Gen Probe (NASDAQ:GPRO) -- "The biotechs are going to be flush with money. We like the medical device companies. I think they've bottomed. I want to buy it right here."

Thompson Creek Metal (TC) -- "I got this wrong. I think it's got value and I'm not giving up on it. Every mineral company has been hit, but I'm sticking by this one."

MDU Resources Group (NYSE:MDU) -- "It's got pipeline construction; it's natural gas distribution. The more I think about it, I want to own this stock myself for my charitable trust."

Yum! Brands (NYSE:YUM) -- "I like Yum! Brands. It's too hard to own Dominos."

Western Gas Partners (NYSE:WES) -- "I do not mind buying some boring oil and gas stocks and that's one of them. I'd buy them on any weakness."

 Bearish Calls:

Companhia Vale Ads (NYSE:RIO) -- "RIO is complicated. It raised money to make an acquisition and ever since then I've been skeptical."

Domino's Pizza (NYSE:DPZ) -- "Listen, that one's too hard for me. Every raw cost in there is difficult."

Gushan Energy (NYSE:GU) -- "This is too speculative for me. I'm not going to go with it."
