Analyst Views

Analyst Mark Boyar of the Boyar Value Fund, who believes investors now have "a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity" in financial stocks, told Barron's on July 20 that he likes Travelers. Conversely, Credit Suisse assumed coverage of Travelers with a Neutral rating from an Outperform on July 18, and the firm lowered their target to $50 from $58. Last month, Legg Mason identified Travelers as one of their picks.

Travelers has been reported to be one of the bidders for Royal Bank Scotland's (RBS) insurance unit. Investors may be looking for more information about Travelers' plans for this division.
