The Hershey Company (NYSE:HSY) is expected to report Q2 earnings before market open Wednesday, July 23, with a conference call scheduled for 8:30 am ET.
Analysts are looking for a profit of 28c on revenue of $1.08B. The consensus range is 26c to 31c for EPS, and revenue of $1.07B to $1.09B, according to First Call. On June 17, the company gave 2008 guidance, saying it sees FY08 EPS of $1.85 to $1.90 vs. a consensus at the time of $1.82, and FY08 net sales growth of 3% to 4%. It also sees long-term EPS growth of 6% to 8%.
Hershey added that the economy was not hurting the candy business and that it was more convinced then ever that its core U.S. business could grow. Gabelli, which rates Hershey a Buy, said it sees potential upside for 2009 if commodity costs subside.
