Plantronics (PLT) Named Best Brand For Bluetooth Products

Tickermine surveyed 30 electronic stores across the country including Best Buy (BBY) and Radio Shack (RSH) regarding Plantronics mobile phone headsets and accessories. Bluetooth mobile headsets are selling better than corded varieties at 87% of the stores surveyed. The Plantronics Discovery Voyager was the best selling item at 33% of stores. The Discovery 665 was equally popular, being the best selling item at 33% of stores. The Plantronics Discovery 360 followed as the best seller at 27% of stores.

Respondents surveyed at 87% of stores indicated that the store had stock of the best-selling item and 73% stated that they did not expect to run out of the device. Of the 30 store employees interviewed, 43% believed that Plantronics were the best brand for adapters and Bluetooth products. Motorola was named at 27% of the stores followed by IGo (10%) and Jawbone (10%).

Mice and Pointers Best Selling Logitech (MOBE) Items

Mice and pointers are the best selling Logitech items right now at 42% of stores surveyed by Tickermine. Stores interviewed included Best Buy, Radio Shack and Office Max (OMX). Logitech gaming accessories were the best selling items at 23% of stores, followed by webcams (16%) and keyboards (13%). Store employees were asked which Logitech camera they sold most of - seventeen stores (55%) reported that they sold mostly Quickcam for Notebooks, twelve (39%) said Quickcam for Chat and two (6%) reported Quickcam for Skype.

Between power adapters, cables & parts or accessories, fifteen stores (55%) reported that power adapters were the product type that people buy most. Accessories were more popular at nine stores (29%), followed by cables & parts at seven (23%) stores. When asked what is the best speaker system for iPods, sixteen stores (52%) stated that Pure-Fi Anywhere compact speakers were the best. Twelve (39%) said Pure-Fi Dream speakers were best followed by Audiostation Express as three stores (10%).

Roomba Robot Vacuum Given the Thumbs-Up (IGOI)

94% of appliance stores surveyed by Tickermine this month including Best-Buy, Sears (SHLD), and Radio Shack, sell the Roomba vacuum by IRobot Corporation. Employees at 84% of the stores interviewed around the country stated that the Roomba was the best robot vacuum cleaner, with 40% selling 1-2 per week. The majority of stores (60%), however, told Tickermine that they sell at least 1-3 Roomba robot vacuum cleaners per day.
