AES Corp (NYSE:AES) is expected to report Q2 earnings before market open Friday, August 8, with a conference call scheduled for 10:00 a.m. ET.
Analysts are looking for EPS of 30c on revenue of $3.38B. The consensus range is 28c to 32c for EPS, and revenue range of $3.36B to $3.4B, according to First Call. When AES reported Q4 results back in March, it gave FY08 and FY09 guidance. It forecast FY08 EPS of $1.14 vs. a consensus of $1.20 and FY09 EPS of $1.20 to $1.25 vs. a consensus of $1.28. The company had previously seen FY09 EPS of $1.25 to $1.45. Over the last three months, AES's stock has fallen slightly over -8%.
On July 22, Deutsche Bank noted that a rate increase in Argentina would be a modest positive for AES.
