Almost 70% of Noble Roman's (NOBL) Customers Spend Under $25 Per Visit
Noble Roman's Inc. was consulted for another survey this week after the Indianapolis pizza chain won a wonderful consumer choice award. We approached 18 restaurants around the country and asked whether lunch or dinner was busier? How much do customers spend? Are competing restaurants nearby? What is the most popular pizza, and how does business compare to last year? 28% of those interviewed mentioned the Pepperoni pizza as their bestseller, and no other flavor, style or type got a single nod. It doesn't seem to matter much though, because 50% of those polled said business was busier than a year ago. 22% said it was less busy and 11% said it was consistent. And 67% felt that their customers liked the menu best about this chain, while 33% said it was the cheap prices. 61% of those polled reported no competing restaurants nearby, while 39% stated Applebee's, Papa John's and Pizza Hut were creeping in. Most people, 67% specifically said people spend less than $25 per visit, per party of two. Only 33% spend more but not exceeding $30-$40. 72% of those interviewed said dinner was busiest and 28% stated it was lunch.
43% of Famous Dave's Restaurants (NASDAQ:DAVE) Say Economy Is Negatively Impacting Business
Ribs are the most popular item on the Famous Dave's menu, according to 68% of restaurants surveyed in a recent TickerMine poll. Every Famous Dave's said ribs had been a long-standing menu item. Fifty-four percent of restaurants offer weekly specials; 53% of restaurants who offer specials said the specials had resulted in an increased level of business. Dinner is the busiest time for 79% of Famous Dave's locations. The average check size for a party of two is under $45 for 93% of restaurants polled; 50% said the average tab is less than $30. Forty-three percent of restaurants said worries over the economy have caused a decrease in business.
Only 13% of BJ's Restaurants (NASDAQ:BJRI) Folk Say Customers Like their Prices
BJ's Restaurant & Brewery was profiled this week. We asked whether lunch or dinners were busiest, which menu item sells best, what customer traffic is like and how much people spend? We consulted 24 restaurants and found that 38% quoted lunch as the busiest shift and 62% quoted dinner. 96% of those interviewed said their restaurant was older than a year and only 4% said theirs was new. 67% of those interviewed said it was a menu that attracted their clientele. 13% said it was the prices and 21% thought it was the atmosphere. 42% said their customers spend between $32-$45 per couple, 38% said it was more likely $20-$30 per couple and 21% said they saw bills for $50-$60. 33% said the most popular menu item was their Balsamic Grilled Chicken. Another 33% thought it was the Barbecue Chicken Pizza and 13% said it was the Halibut Fish tacos. And something must be going right, because 38% said their business was the same as a year ago, 33% reported business was up and only 8% said it was flat.
