35% Say Business Down at Mimi's Cafe (BOBE)
35% of Mimi's Cafes surveyed stated that economic worries have led to a slowdown in business. 65% report that weekly specials do not increase business. 58% report their average bill for a party of two is $20-$30, while 38% report it's $35-$45. 50% state they usually have no wait for a table and 27% report a wait of 10 minutes or less
Prices Low But Menu Items the Biggest Draw to Luby's Cafeteria (LUB)
Tickermine surveyed Luby's restaurants located in Texas, Arizona and Oklahoma this month. Twenty-one restaurants (95%) had been at that location for over one year and eighteen (82%) reported that they were located near other restaurants. Dinner was busier than lunch at 68% of the Luby's restaurants interviewed and menu items were stated as the biggest draw for their customers at 59% of the restaurants.
Prices were reported as the reason customers frequented six (27%) restaurants and atmosphere at three (14%). Half (50%) of the restaurants surveyed said that the average check size for a party of two was less than $25, and half (50%) said that the average check was between $30 - $40 for two.
Business Is Good at Denny's (DENN)
55% of Denny's polled reported that business is the same as last year. 31% say business is better, up from 12% in June. 62% stated that the average tab for two is $10-$25, down from 80% in our June survey, while 38% reported an average tab of $30-$40, up from 20% in June. 55% feel that most patrons dine at Denny's because of the prices. According to 24%, the Grand Slam breakfast is the most popular menu item.
