Natural Gas Inventories Continue to Rise

This week's release of the EIA's natural gas inventories showed that stockpiles of natural gas increased by 102 billion cubic feet.  As shown in the charts below, stockpiles have been following their normal seasonal trends with steady increases throughout the Summer.  However, the build in stockpiles has been larger than normal, putting the gap between current and average inventory levels at the widest margin since February.

I don't have any argument with the fact that NG inventories are building up fast for August, but you're chart is worthless - showing an average from 1993 to now is too long a period. NG demand has increased substantially from 1993 to now, you should plot current build vs. the average of the last 5 years.

It's good that ng keeps the inventories high...keeps the cost down so they can compete with coal...and also keep people supplied in case of hurricanes etc. Who knows maybe they'll start liquifying it and sending it
to Europe if the Russians close them down...stranger things have happened!
