Anti-environmentalist - you're nuts - tourism is a big industry and the mineral industry vs. water pollution debates are intense.
Gun runners - not at all. But we do own a lot of guns and enjoy shooting them. On the other hand, murders happen infrequently enough in the state that each one makes front page news and the trial stays front page news for a long time. You folks in the big cities should consider that criminals tend to avoid places where they might get shot accurately by something big enough to take down an elk.
Radical wing nuts - Everyone is a radical about something. We just are radical about things you don't like.
Bigoted theologians - Having God in charge wouldn't be a bad thing, but sadly He's not. Yes, we have some bigots here. There's just so few people here in general that you hear about them more. But overall, we're pretty much a live and let live state.
Wyoming is the home of Gail Norton, former Secretary of the Interior, a Bush-crony appointee and "Wise Use" anti-environmentalist, previously a lobbyist for mining interests, now works for Shell Oil.
Wyoming is the home of gun toting, bible thumping Neanderthal, red-neck schmucks, one the most brutal homophobic murders (Mathew Shepard) which was condoned by a culture of red-neck intolerance and religious bigotry.
Stay away if you have a brain and a heart and value your life.
i like it too. it's amazing how fast miscreants can run in the dark if you step out on your porch with a rifle. (i left you some notes under you energy article.) it gets downright comical when you have a good neighbor that does it at the same time.
horatio
would you say in general you hate the state because you think they have a tendency to generalize?
stockerblog
i found it useful as a few more energy stocks to keep an eye on.
ho ratio at the gate or horatioatthegate
What a slut.
Takes all kinds to go around picking fights on a financial site trying to provide information about investments.
I got a lot out of the article and wil be checking out some of teh companies I didn't know existed.
The truth of the matter is many companies with a solid moral foundation have goneon to become the nations largest companies. Too bad some of these companies are being run into the ground by some neo-expert in financing. If in fact these clowns runnig the companies like AIG and MER were much better than a 2.5 GPA they would have seen the dust on the horizon. I could see the financial ruin of these companies coming a long time ago, which is why I avoided them like the plaque.
My guess is the next big boy to fall will be a major bottling and snackfood producer like Pepsico. Of course the structure is/was a little more stable a few yeas ago but a lot of information is not disclosed anymore.
lots of luck horatioatthegate. stay mad and stay away from a good thing.
Compared to Colorado or most other big states, the traffic in WY is nonexistent. About the only problem areas are on I-25 south from Cheyenne, and I-80 going toward SLC. There's also a few other bottleneck spots on I-80. There's a couple of touches of congestion between Buffalo and Sheridan on I-90 at times. If you live most anywhere north of I-80 and ignore the Jackson/Yellowstone tourist spots, roads are open (allowing for occasional construction work areas). There aren't that many big rigs on the N/S routes, but I-80 and I-90 do get quite a few. Rush hours in some of the boom towns can be annoying and are getting worse, but they are nothing like Denver.
Sorry about Matthew Shepherd. No murder is good. The people involved were convicted with life sentences. But keep in mind that Mr. Shepherd's murder was one of only 11 in the entire state that year. Not a bad record overall. I think that the violent crime rate in San Francisco that year was about 2.7 x as high as our entire state. It isn't unheard of for San Francisco to have 10x that number of homicides in a year for just the one town. So don't let a single murder of one gay man paint an entire state as homophobic - okay? Even the people who are supposedly better adjusted don't get along that well.
Of the companies, I have owned Questar in the past and happen to own it now. The direction for NGas is the question, but it seems like its stock price is pretty decent and it seems pretty well managed. Some of the utilities listed don't seem to be very well liked, but what utility is in its service area?
FYI yes we not only have guns but big guns. And we have dogs that are trained to feed on left wing oysters.
Yep, we have country ways here in Wy, 10 gage and 44 mag country ways. Why my mother and her Sharps 50 can take down the biggest moose you ever did imagine at a 1000 yards without working up a sweat and have powder leftover. Furthermore, she'll have it butchered and on the table by supper.
And that's "Family Tradition."
Well got to go now and get some "Beer for My Horses."
Hello horatioatthegate just keep in mind, Wyoming is what America use to be. That is something that you will never understand. And your right Wyoming suck's so stay out and tell all your friends the same, there is nothing here for you folks. Have a great day.
