About this author:

If the present Congress errs in too much talking, how can it be otherwise in a body to which the people send one hundred and fifty lawyers, whose trade it is to question everything, yield nothing, and talk by the hour? - Thomas Jefferson

Question: We are nearing the end of the 110th Congress. What legacy they will leave on the USA financial and economic systems?

Answer: Literally nothing.

Congress has failed to enact literally any financial or economic legislation since the 109th Congress which was first sat in January 2005. Below is a listing of financial and economic legislation presented to the President for signature as of 09/25/08. This list includes any legislation concerning Congress’ oversight functions on the markets and currency.

And what about our Presidential Candidates? What bills did they personally sponsor in the 110th Congress?

Disclosures: None.
