Management's behavior does not surprise me. In fact based on my previous article on Stealthgas, this is EXACTLY what I expected them to do. Like most Greek shippers, they swim with the tide. I should add that by no means do I regret selling my shares of GASS.
Thanks for the comment. They are acquiring newbuild ships and (unless I'm mistaken) plan to continue to do so. How does this qualify as "preserving capital"?
Thanks for the comment. To play devil's advocate, if it makes no sense to pay dividends during a downturn, does it make sense to lever up during a downturn?
