  • SandRidge Permian - Oil Shock Therapy Assessment [View article]
    hhmc -

You really need to lighten up on this one before you lose even more.

Weren't you punished enough by BBEP? They will probably eliminate the distribution in April.

    Bargain -

In 2009 BBEP eliminated their distributions altogether. In April they will re-evaluate things and probably cut further or eliminate entirely. Same goes for the other E&P's.

I didn't address BP or TOT.

As I said this is a VERY high risk portfolio.

Your E&P's (BBEP, MEMP, LNCO etc.), COSWF, EMES and RIG will all be further reducing or eliminating distributions by end of the first quarter.

Don't see a lot of "value" positions here - more like yield chasing.

Sorry, but SDRL NEVER said they would "maintain" the dividend.

What they said was that the dividend was "sustainable" into the first quarter of 2016 - they did not say that it would be "sustained" through that date.

Nevertheless, it hurt a lot of folks.

The scary thing about today's BBEP announcement is that it was for only one month instead of three. Likely that more cuts could be coming.

BBEP pays a distribution not a dividend. PER is not a perpetual trust.

What is your rationale for saying BBEP will be going up? They will cut or eliminate the distribution as they did in 2009.

PER's distribution will begin to decline significantly four quarters after their drilling responsibilities are fulfilled (this quarter?).

You are in a very precarious position with these two.

Considering your list contains royalty trusts and E&P MLP's that will be cutting, or possibly eliminating distributions in coming quarters, anyone foolish enough to buy any of these at this point is just plain foolish.

Note that the author is smart enough to not be invested in any of these.

In my opinion, Putin is the second most dangerous person in the world (after our Prez). I believe we will all find this out in due time.

Have no idea what the real reasons for the Saudi actions are, but we must remember that Saudi Arabia encourages and supports terrorism - 15 of the 19 9/11 islamic terrorists were Saudis, so I would not put anything past them.

If Ultra were to go bankrupt, they would no longer be able to maintain the lease payments.

Also, if the prices of oil/NG continue to decline many E&P's would shut down, there would be less flowing through the pipelines and lower revenues for the midstream companies, which would also have an impact on CORR's earnings.

Generally they do - 15%. If held in an IRA there might not be any withheld, although it will depend upon the transfer agent used by your broker.
