Thanks for all the comments. The purpose of this post was specifically to round up recent analyst comments on the 10 companies that are likely to be the Dogs of the Dow for 2011, therefore we did not include other info such as dividends etc.
The original headline of the item on our own site was "Upgrade/Downgrade Pulse: Dogs of the Dow," which was changed by Seeking Alpha's Editors.

Thanks for the comments. As we have pointed out before on Pulse Check, lots of analysts have been behind the curve on RIM, but not just ones at small regional brokerages. As it happens, analysts from smaller firms (including Wunderlich) dominated the top ten stock pickers on the latest FT/StarMine latest rankings.

Thanks for the comment. It will be interesting to see if the Zediva model is sustainable and scalable and can withstand the inevitable legal challenges from the studios.

Good point Ed Rudy. It will be fascinating to see just how much migration there is from T to VZ once VZ has the iPhone. Could be that subscribers will be less "mobile" than people think, due to "friends and family" plans and contract dates.
Analysts Who Predicted RIM's Slide, And What They Are Saying Now [View article]
Thanks for pointing out Suva's change of heart tokyostory88 and stocktoyou. I have updated the original post at Alacra Pulse to reflect this information. Given this, Ferragu, Fidacaro and Gelblum have the edge. pulse.alacra.com/blog/.../
Wheels Coming Off Research In Motion [View article]
Thanks for the comments. It's true that many analysts were late to recognize RIM's problems. In a particular several Canadian analysts, including Abramsky have been much more bullish that most Canadian analysts as we pointed out last year.
Netflix Is Flying too Close to the Sun [View article]
Thanks for all the comments. Netflix is a fascinating company and it will be interesting to see how this all plays out. For the record, I have no position in the company, other than being a subscriber. Just to illustrate the growing competition, I now have instant access to streaming movies on my Vizio TV from Netflix, Blockbuster, Vudu and Amazon, as well as additional streaming content from Hulu plus.

Pulse Prognosis Update: Wikileaks Cloud Lingers Over Bank of America [View article]
Thanks, for the comments. Wikileaks may not tell us anything we don't already know (or indeed anything at all), but until that is resolved I think most people will be cautious and stay away. As often happens, BofA may in fact rally once the Wikileaks stuff comes out, even if some if it is bad news.
Thanks for the suggestions on QCOM and PCLN. This was not intended to be a "best stocks" list, but rather interesting tech stocks that were much discussed in 2010. It'll be interesting to see if either of these two make the list next year!

Interesting point. BBY does seem to be putting much more emphasis on the shopping experience and support. It will be interesting to see how successful HHGregg is in filling the gap left by Circuit City.

It may be too soon to write off RIM, but in my opinion, the impact of the loss of the BlackBerry's cachet should not be underestimated.
