The press release says very little. You need to go to the filing (which is incomplete - they omitted several notes): http://bit.ly/17zljh7

Failed to reiterate guidance and snuck in an internal review that can't be pretty.

I went to bed too early! They filed on OTC at 2:50 EST. That is before midnight in CA, where they are based. I think that they may have been trying to prevent me from writing an article (lol)...

That was a total scam. I am awaiting resolution, but that was going to be nasty (or still may be).

  • Medical Marijuana Inc.: Whistling Dixie, Blowing Smoke [View article]
MJNA Q1 Filing was released at almost midnight - PST! I had written an article describing a lapse that I guess proved only to be total disrespect for its shareholders that is now published to my instablog (http://bit.ly/13yMXYi).

The filing was incomplete (the notes cut off in the middle of note four on the second-to-last page), and I don't have time at this moment in any event to fully review the quarter. On a positive note, the level of disclosure seems to be improving (though still lacking in many ways). On a negative note, the share-count soared, almost to its limit of 950mm authorized shares, increasing from 808mm to 938mm (in just 1 quarter!) This is very important because the company discloses that it needs to raise capital. The other main point I would make is that the rest of their business ex-PhytoSPHERE (which they didn't own a year ago) is in DECLINE. The cash balance was basically unchanged at roughly $1mm. This report, in my view, is not supportive of .19 per share ($178mm market cap), especially in light of the internal investigation that is ongoing.

Someone speculated that it may be related to the CANV delay. I don't think it's necessarily so bad, but it's not good for credibility.

The real confusion, whether you contributed to it or not is unclear, was the part about Dixie remaining independent. This has confused a lot of investors.

No, I don't get that much!

I always say that the truth lies in the middle. We all think we are right about everything, but we are human. With this one, Perry and I are looking at totally different things. The first time I read one of Perry's articles, I told him that I thought he had done a nice job on telling the positives.

There is no rule at SA that articles be balanced - just accurate, interesting and well-written. I have focused on what stands out to me and where I can contribute most effectively. Others choose their spots. In most of my articles (all but the last one), I have purposefully shared ONLY information and no recommendation. The last one I did say the stock should be sold (submitted when it was .18). In all fairness, I probably shouldn't make those kinds of recommendations unless they include a caveat (which was implied): Based on not being able to trust management. This whole THC confusion really IRKED me. I contacted Perry and another author, and, while I never heard from Perry (who seems not to have understood the situation based on his prior articles if I read them correctly), the other author was surprised to learn that MJNA GETS NO CURRENT BENEFIT FROM THC.

With that said, I have been spending the last few months trying to get up to speed on the more fundamental side of the story, so we'll see if I have something to contribute on things like "strategy" or "products". Not saying I will!
