I am middle-aged and still working and I plan on working for at least 20-30 years more. I am interested in developing a self-sustaining dividend portfolio for retirement in my ROTH IRA. I also do trade options (covered calls, put/spread selling). While I am interested in underlyings that serve a dual purpose and are liquid for the purposes of writing options/covered calls, it is not my primary focus of my retirement account. I would like to generate at least $15K-$20K of tax-free income or more in retirement just through my dividend-paying stocks.
Retired engineer who enjoys investing
which gives me a good reason to keep up with the
world. Have core holdings in mutual funds--equity and bond,
and quality dividend stocks. IRAs
and Roths constitute the major portion of the portfolio. Since the world markets are quite mixed, I'm more interested in a defensive position.
I have been investing primarily in US equities since 2008. As a Junior at University of California Santa Barbara I am studying Economics and Finance. What keeps me excited about the future is my desire to understand the hidden forces that move markets, businesses, and people.
I am currently seeking a full-time Investment Banking Analyst position starting Summer 2016.
