Good article. Doesn't go far enough though. What is happening to newspapers now will happen to TV companies in future. Try as they can, they are not capable to switch to content on demand. New companies will come and take away the money. In short, sell all TV companies, buy Netflix. And watch for newcomers.

Microsoft as a Web Giant? Come on, company already lost billions on the Net. Now it's losing money at rate of 1 billion a year. They never knew how to make money on the Web, they will never make any. Without making money, any strategy is laughable.
As for media companies, they probably can't make it. Two problems:
1. They don't know a thing about Web.
2. Any Web offerings compete with main source of income.
