There are vested interests who will try best for Blackberry not to get the contract but I hope for our security sake that Blackberry does. But even if Blackberry gets the contract, I bet you there will be negative articles and Blackberry bashing in the paid US media. This bashing will not stop until they have shaken all the weak hands and loaded up on the shares and thats when the climb to $200 begins. This will be a long process but hey investing is a long game. My only concern with Blackberry is that they have a culture of hubris and lack a sense of urgency. If Heins realizes that, we are golden.

Dont you get it... apps moat will disappear... Heins has shown he can survive. The lead iOS and Android have is today, but we dont have true mobile computing yet. Try to be less myopic and look out 5 years from now.... Yes, it will be brutal, you can see how big powerful people are trying to malign and destroy Blackberry... we will see in 5 years who is right. Its not the phone, its the platform. Even Samsung is aiming to be more of a vertical player. You cant have a sustainable, deep and wide moat with manufacturing a device like a phone. I don't see Blackberry as a phone company or mobile device manufacturer in the long term. Things like Z10 will be incidental to Blackberry.

Have you thought over the real reason for existence of Blackberry as it stands today... its the mobile computing platform. The handheld device will be the center-piece of our existence connected to all the machines, terminals around us. This then is the true mobile computing and Blackberry will be right there playing a major role. In 5 years I see Blackberry to be a $200-$300 stock if Heins executes well and plays it smartly. Blackberry has the stuff to get there.
