It is also worth mentioning that not of this valuation includes the 35,000 ounces of the gold SLW also estimates for its 2015 production. If anyone would like this valuation spread sheet i am happy to share.

  • Silver Wheaton Meets a Lot of Buffett's Core Criteria [View article]
i don't see industrial demand to increase 80%, i do see individual investor demand and physical demand increasing significantly. 50% of silver demand is from the etfs. maybe some one corners the market like the hunt bros. lets say 1% of money in the banks decided to buy silver. 180 billion into 800 million ounces of silver which is the number mined each year. $225 silver per oz

The article was just some additional due diligence, i certainly recognize Buffett doesn't like PM's and the rest of your points are also valid. I would never argue because Buffett would buy it its a good investment idea. Look at BAC. Wouldnt touch it with a ten foot pole. But after researching some of Buffett's basic qualitative investment checklists i was surprised at how good SLW looked. The criteria above was by far the most common basic Buffett principles i could find. I just finished a intrinsic value piece on SLW that from a valuation point of view looks great and certainly no one can duplicate SLW's current streaming portfolio! stay tuned!

Here are the silver stream. You can dig through their recent Q2 report and find more information about the cost and production of all these mines as well. Notice most of the streams are already paid for and most are for the life of the mine. not bad

wmark is right. because silver is hard typically harder to accurately find than most metals, silver is almost always mined as a bi-product of a copper mine, gold mine, etc. Therefore, mines are willing to take an upfront payment for future silver streams. SLW's avg cost of silver production per ounce last year was $4.10 thanks.

  • 4 Buy And 4 Sell Ideas By Cramer [View article]
"We are observing a gold-mania in this century, similar to tech-mania of the late 90s. Who can explain gold’s price at this high with this physical supply-demand forces ?"

1 of 2 investors is calling the top to the "gold-mania" bubble. You know what that suggests? thats its not a bubble!? was everyone calling the tech bubble? nope. was everyone calling the real-estate bubble? nope. A bubble is something that rises without the fundamentals. Gold HAS the fundamentals. You're missing the big picture. Gold's value has nothing to due with supply-demand forces. just like the value of the dollar doesn't!

"the same is true about the price of gold and the stability of fiat currencies. Gold is the mirror of the world's paper currency system. The price of gold doesn't reflect the intrinsic value of the metal -- which is almost unchanging over time. It reflects the relative value and volatility of paper currencies." Porter Stansberry

Im so sick of hearing the Buffett quote on digging up gold and mars. not original. We know buffett doesnt like PM's. What is crazier? people valuing a precious metal or letting a government print millions of dollars into a 14.4 trillion dollar debt and still expecting a currency to have value?

40% long PM's. Let me know when you buy PM's then i might be a seller.

  • What's Behind The Climb In Gold? [View article]
a "bubble" is something increasing without fundaments. Gold has the fundamentals. A 14 trillion fiat dollar debt that has zero fundamentals seems more like a bubble.

  • More Talk Of A Bubble In Gold [View article]
a bubble is something without fundamentals, exactly. gold has the fundamentals. a 14 trillion us fiat dollar debt is the real bubble as it has no fundamentals.

KDanagger, by the time countries are nationalizing mines for their precious metals i would have to think silver is $100+ and SLW $150+
