  • Stay Away From The SLV ETF [View article]
you bet. i am long SIVR. to be honest i did very little research on it, but i chose it over SLV because i had read in my little amount of DD that is was more actual bullion than futures. i think if anyone is trying to get silver/gold etf exposure. CEF is the hands down best choice wish i owned it.

    Kraken,

are you familiar with the details of the silver etf SIVR? i thought this one had more bullion and less future/leverage relative to SLV. Are you familiar with this etf and its characteristics?

  • Silver Wheaton Meets a Lot of Buffett's Core Criteria [View article]
    AlessandroDiRoma,

Thanks for your comment. Buffett likes to ignore economics, whether that is wise or not in our current environment is a different story. Buffett had the privlidge of investing in markets that in my opinion were far more organic and rational. SLW would fall short on some of Buffett's qualitative disciplines, but for just his basic quantitative checklist, SLW looks good.

  • The Gold Trade: Prepare for the Plunge [View article]
you have some great points. but here is the biggest problem. there is no where to park your money right now. can't buy bonds, can't buy real estate, can't buy stocks. So what is a "safe" trade? gold. Gold will continue to rise tell there is some kind of alternative safe investment. it takes you 1700 yrs to double your money at rate right now. Gold is currently in a love/fear euphoria. People buy it because they fear the market and other people buy because they love it because of the environment were in. it may be a bubble. but its just started, you cant short momentum.

Amvet! thanks for your comment. SLW still has a three bagger in it. I will post a article on the valuation of SLW soon! SNDXF is also one of my favorites but a much smaller weight relative to SLW. I am long SNDXF. Thanks

  • Silver Wheaton Meets a Lot of Buffett's Core Criteria [View article]
    Kevin,

thanks for the comment on SLW's moat. I also think its worth mentioning that future contracts are not going to warrant companies the right to buy silver at such a low cost like SLW has. if Silver is continues to trade higher, future streams will be paying $10.00 per silver ounce against SLW's $4. Mines will want to sell silver at higher prices with silver trending and trading higher.

  • ExxonMobil: Time to Add the Favorite Son of Standard Oil to Your Portfolio [View article]
nice piece. good reasoning. but i like DVN much more than XON. it seem exon is to large, spread to thin, and spends to much in the court room. XON is the target before any company for anyone trying to pick on oil. hard to imagine XON sustaining the growth it has for how big it is. DVN also has a strong share buyback and is even cheaper. i am not long DVN but have been wanting to initiate a posiiton in DVN. cheers!

  • Though Abercrombie (ANF) fell 8.7% after reporting Q2 results, with investors concerned about macro weakness and gross margin pressure, Janney Montgomery Scott is reiterating a Buy and $96 PT. The firm notes Abercrombie's 9% same-store sales growth beat consensus, and that it remains comfortable with an FY12 EPS goal of $4.75.  [View news story]
jersey shore just ruined ANF. same thing happened with Ed Hardy. Suburbo kids do not want to be related to Jersey Shore!

  • 3 Long and 4 Short Ideas for August [View article]
hey there is a position! thats what im talkin about david! im long SNDXF. as well as SLW. with SLW's current silver stream projections assuming very little growth with new contracts and a $40 silver SLW is a 25% 5 yr CAGR trading at its average PE. imagine if silver goes to $60. or do we dare say $100!

oh! and SLW free cash flow from sales 43% find any company where free cash flow is that high... SLW doesnt need good mgmt because theyre work is already done! as peter lynch said... find a business that can be run by idiots, because eventually it will be.

    long SLW, SNDXF
