Yes, saw the accumulation of the shares. For every transaction there are two parties, and it is always good to think about who is on the other side of the transaction, and what is in it for them. However, ultimately, if your approach is value based, then the underlying belief is that from time to time people are going to be selling securities that perhaps they should not be - particularly if their motivations are not based on a purely rational framework.

Large institutions such as Fidelity, can have their decisions influenced by a myriad of causes other than the enterprising motivations of the keen private investor, and are not necessarily the best benchmark.

Interesting points on the short interest.

Thanks again for taking the time to read the article and for your valuable insight and feedback.

Thank you for your kind comments. Yes, SKX's current market cap. is about 1 bln., but the company does about twice that in Revenue -

Interesting point on the CA connection... ;o) hadn't thought of that, but makes sense, CA is it's own "sub-culture" within the larger US culture, which the world univerisally is drawn too... very good point....

Thanks so much for your kind comments. I completely forgot to mention managements comments in their press release a few weeks ago - thanks for brining it up. I also completely agree with the international side of things - there is no question Skechers are huge oversee - another point I had meant to mention.

Couldn't agree more about the shares being a "steal".

  • Skechers and Nike: Two Great Brands - One on Sale [View article]
    Alan,

thank you for the kind comments. Well, human nature is what it is, we're impatient, and we like instant gratification... ;o) but even given that, it's hard to see how sellers got the price down below $20, that's less than BV - another point I failed to mention in the post, is that the founders are still active and passionatly involved in the business - which is very good for the long term prospects of any company.

I'll look forward to following your posts!

    Warm Regards,

    Greg

Forgive me if I'm wrong on the toning trend...I've been wrong before... ;o) I took the fact from the CEO's comments during the conference call that they are seeing a slowing in that category. Either way, I hope you're right and the CEO is wrong, b/c that makes SKX even more attractive.... ;o)

  • 6+ PE prior to Christmas Sales = Extreme Strong Buy [View instapost]
Thanks so much for the insight. I really apprecite it. I got the 287 mil. right off the Q3 10k for "total liab." - can you clarify further... - thanks.

Really good to know about the "shape-ups" if that is the case, than SKX is an even better investment.

Good to know about the buy back as well. I recently read the family that owns the co. is very passionate about growing it - so always good to find a company where the founders are still passionate...

    again thanks.
