  • 5 Momentum Stocks With Pullbacks That Could Be Your Opportunity [View article]
I think it's funny that this article was about 5 companies, not one. Shows the level of insanity surrounding VVUS and ARNA, which is why I said "The last thing I want to do is debate which drug is better, lorcaserin or Qnexa, or which has the most upside." Investors are simply too emotional and illogical or unwilling to accept or even acknowledge that its competitor could experience equal or even greater success

An author recently published a very good article on the partnership and breaks down the deal. I suggest you read it here on SA

Good points. If a company is buying its own shares it's always a good sign. Acthar has potential beyond our current knowledge or expectations. The indications for use are seemingly endless

You are entitled to your opinion. I personally don't know which will perform better. I suspect equal in first year, and then it is anyone's race. However, I prefer IMUC over all others, as far as upside.

I have already addressed this issue. But both stocks are more than worthy of its market cap. Both drugs, combined, could easily create $5 billion in sales. I think one or the other will become REGN within next two years, but which one is anyone's guess

Sales growth, shipments, and hiring is explosive. What else matters? It was trading bearish before earnings, there are no problems. It will recover

My goal was not to analyze all the problems of EITHER drug. ARNA has just as many problems as VVUS, neither are perfect. But no biotechnology stock is perfect heading into a product launch. I only acknowledged facts, I don't want to speculate. If the two drugs create equal revenue, then ARNA only keeps about 35%, versus VVUS keeping 100%. ARNA will have better margins with lower costs, however I already acknowledged this fact

"The serious flaws" are brought to you by noted short sellers at Citron Research. Everyone knows a physician could prescribe the ingredients alone but in the first couple years the demand will be too high

I agree, I just acknowledged that profits could be close as cost won't be as high for ARNA

At this point there is no way to know which will emerge as the clear favorite. But, throughout the first couple years, it makes sense that VVUS would have much higher revenue, at least double, because it does not have a partner. ARNA may have better income as it won't have high costs, but I think the fact that VVUS is marketing its own drug validates a market cap of at least 2x. But only because we don't know which will emerge as the clear favorite.

  • Heavy Volume May Mean Heavier Profits In Small Biopharmaceutical Stocks [View article]
The statement is correct. Please click the link in the article to verify the data recently published in the FDA news release.

Keep in mind that BLOOM was just the first of three phase 3 trials that was testing lorcaserin. But yes, the BLOOM subset saw a higher weight loss in the first year.

  • Investment Choices For Melanoma Awareness Month [View article]
In my zeal to write about and analyze Provectus Pharmaceuticals’ PV-10 (Rose Bengal) therapy for treating melanoma, I made an erroneous assumption about Rose Bengal’s stability in the biological system. I had stated that “PV-10 is comprised of a 10% solution of Rose Bengal disodium, which has a 30-minute half-life (the amount of time it takes for half of the compound to degrade or breakdown) and is excreted through the bile. The compound only has minutes to achieve its goal of permeating cancer cells. It can do so selectively due to the nonpolar or fat-soluble nature of Rose Bengal.”
The term “half-life” as Provectus utilizes it is not a typical chemist’s definition of half-life in which it describes the amount of time it takes for one half of a compound to breakdown. As Provectus uses the term, it rather describes the amount of time the compound is in the patient’s bloodstream before it is excreted in the bile. Rose Bengal is actually very stable in the human biological system, and although the portion remaining in the bloodstream is excreted rapidly in 30 minutes, the portion that has been absorbed by the cancer tissue actually remains in its parent form for weeks until the dying cancer tissue is absorbed by the body and the remaining Rose Bengal is excreted. I apologize for the oversight and am excited in the hope that Provectus, OncoSec and Biovex gives melanoma patients. I look forward to new and hopefully promising data coming from each company in the near future and regret any confusion my aforementioned statement had caused.

  • Arena's Weight Loss Drug Receives FDA Advisory Panel Recommendation For Approval [View article]
It seems as though everyone is confident in the advisory boards decision to recommend approval by the FDA. Any thoughts on the FDA turning around and requesting a CRL for any reason? CHTP recently had a slim recommendation for approval and took a beating after it was rejected. Are there any red flags that may need addressed by ARNA?
    Good luck to all.

  • Phase III Trial Biotechs For Investment Consideration [View article]
Great article, very well researched and written. Galena's NeuVax seems to have the most upside, when looking at the current market for competing drugs in the breast cancer space.
