"In particular, it's hard to imagine a company that no one wanted to buy at 15 cents a share last year is now worth $7.50."

Simple. Those who are in since then believe they'll find a greater fool to sell their shares to.

"I trust John Chen, because he has past proven experience. He's pretty much done more in 5 months as CEO than BlackBerry in 2+ years IMO."

Rightly so. Why would any carrier carry yesteryear devices that hardly anyone wants, with an OS and GUI that is a pain to sell?

What can John "Classic" Chen do with it? Continue to flog it and collect insubstantial licensing fees from it, while Apple, Google or Garmin are ruling the in-car experience for many brands : )

In BMW cars, for example, QNX toils away, reliably, in the background, to power Apple iOS integration or Nokia's HERE powered navigation, what is what the driver experiences : )

And that is where the license money and the big deals are : D

Sorry folks, no "QNX inside" sticker in sight...

Don't forget that BBRY perma-bulls are stock market masochists, longing for cash burn and revenue downers.

  • BlackBerry: 3 Reasons I'll Keep Buying [View article]
John "Classic" Chen has no track record. On the strength of the dot-com bubble 1998, he took on Sybase to finally flog it to SAP 12 years later. I rather believe JC is TH in disguise. He will fail miserably like his hapless predecessors.

  • BlackBerry Back In 'Execution Mode': Momentum In Business Operations Building [View article]
With Sybase, in a totally different industry, John "Classic" Chen had 12 years until he flogged it to SAP which later was not too happy with what they bought. He used the 1998-2000 dot-com bubble momentum to stabilise the ship back then. Fifteen years later, things are different.

HPQ has products and services that are in demand. BBRY has products and services consumers and businesses try to avoid. See its market share converging towards zero in most key markets.

AE first needs to complete the anti-AMD piece for MF before writing the anti-AMD piece for SA. Usually, one is released the week before earnings and another a while after. Don't worry, you'll have them coming.
