$P - No shares are available to short at Scottrade. A lot of people shorting today? OK, back to buying puts.

    • dgulick: The iTR usage at <5% of P doesn't concern you Andrei? I think we see a short squeeze: first $P's Oct metrics, then earnings on 11/18.
      10/24/13
    • Mr. Durden: Realistically, what are you expecting from the Oct. metrics?

    • Clayton Rulli: If apple gains transaction and P shows a decline in numbers, the downside is horrendous. If P continues as usual all I see is a yawn

    • Clayton Rulli: Seems like risk is much greater than reward if you are long

    • Mr. Durden: Was hoping our resident $P perma-bull would give us an answer.

    • Andrei Volgin: @dgulick - Remember that the numbers will be cumulative for ITR for at least 6 months. Started at 5%, ends up at 20%.
      10/24/13
    • Clayton Rulli: haha permabull= dgulick He's done well with P you must admit!
      10/24/13
    • dgulick: Lol, good comments. @Andrei, I don't think iTR gets to 20% in 6 months, much of that 5% was in Sept, "tire kickers" that went back to P.

    • Ron Reed: My three brokers all have stock available for shorting, Scott must have an internal issue with not enough available. Lots of smart folks

    • Ron Reed: must be shorting there at Scott trade.

    • dgulick: @Durden, Sep metrics came in at the low end of my range, with the cap removal I thought they might hit 1.5B hrs, they came in at 1.36B
      10/25/13
    • dgulick: short by 140M, considering iTR has streamed 1B songs=63M hrs, that alone doesn't account for the shortfall, but my point is that
      10/25/13
    • dgulick: iTR streaming is almost in the noise right here, and they are 2/3 the way through their upgrades, adoption rate will continue to slow
      10/25/13
    • dgulick: I think as this all gets digested (might take Nov metrics to truly see) we're going to see that P's growth is fine, the larger question is
      10/25/13
    • dgulick: are folks betting on that and that is why the stock is high? Or is there some erosion of use baked in? If I knew that I'd be a trader!
      10/25/13
    • dgulick: Since I don't, I'll just stay long.
