  • Don't Buy Into Microsoft 'Surface' Hype [View article]
It would be much more profitable for Microsoft to license Windows 8 to hardware makers, but they could not because no OEM partners were making tablets that could compete with the iPad. Microsoft designed the Surface as a last resort.

  • Why The Microsoft Surface Tablets Should Beat The iPad [View article]
The Surface and iPad are designed for two different audiences. The Surface uses its keyboard, multi-tasking, and office integration to appeal to the enterprise whereas the iPad uses its content consumption and application ecosystem to appeal to the consumer.

  • Microsoft's Surface Tablet Looks Like The Real Deal [View article]
Because the Surface is designed for productivity, it has immense upside. The iPad, Nook and Kindle Fire are all designed for content consumption, so the Surface is in a class of its own. The Surface has Office, true multi-tasking, and "live tiles" application icons that display real-time updates. Because the Surface is designed for a different type of user, an enterprise user, it has significant upside.

  • Scenes From Microsoft's Packed Times Square Surface Launch [View article]
I think the Surface will reinvent the tablet industry. The iPad, Nook and Kindle Fire are all designed for content consumption. No tablet has been designed for productivity until the Surface. The Surface has Office, true multi-tasking, and "live tiles" application icons that display real-time updates. The Surface is designed for a different type of user, and for that reason has immense upside.

  • Google Still Attractive Using Price Multiples [View article]
I think that the problem with Google is that 96% of its revenue is from a business, search, that has a poor outlook. Over the past few years CPC has decreased tremendously, and since Google's revenue is almost all from search, I do not see how it will grow.

  • Google: This Tech Giant Could Surge By 2014 [View article]
I am not very optimistic about Google because as you said "96% of Google's revenue came from advertising last year," and over the past few years CPC has decreased tremendously. With the emergence of FB, advertisers have over platforms, so I expect Google's search revenue to decrease even further. Since search is Google's one profitable business, their future is gloomy.
