Andrew Vaino received a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. Following two years as an NSERC post-doctoral fellow at The Scripps Research in La Jolla, he worked in the biotech industry in San Diego for five years. In 2006 Dr. Vaino graduated with an M.B.A. from UC Irvine. Presently he is Assistant Professor of Chemistry at The University of Maine, where his research group is focused on medicinal chemistry, carbohydrate chemistry, and nanotechnology.
