I bought Google at $700 and Apple at $186. Unfortunately I bought just before they crashed (live and learn), but I believe in the long term outlook for the best 2 tech companies. Still holding on and perhaps get some more.

I 100% agree with you when it comes to Apple. It is going to have a massive year end rally and that’s why I am buying call options on Apple, which is basically now the leader in tech. Where Apple goes, the rest follow.

Possible Outcomes of My Apple Purchase

Good strategy in this volatile market. I own apple but bought at a much higher price, so riding it out for the long term. I do think however the new year will bring a nice run up in the stock markets and AAPL will jump by 30 to 40%.

An Optimist Looks at the Market

Thanks for everyone's comments. Probably wasn't the best weekend to publish this post given the bad news around the financials over the weekend. Hey - I was just trying to look on the bright side of things amid all the negativity. I am realistic enough to know that it will take time for things to work themselves out but if I was as pessimistic as some of the commentors I would have sold my entire portfolio off and keep what cash I had left under my bed!

Apple Investors Nervous as Earnings Call Approaches

I am already down 2K on my apple investment and as I lamented in a recent post, I wish I had the bought the stock this week, rather than before the iPhone. Anyway, I will wait and see if my paper losses grow or disappear today.

I am getting ready for an APPL beatdown. Perhaps it was a mistake to buy stocks before the launch. I wrote about my reasons, but should I sell before the earnings and buy back after they report (I still believe in the long term story!)

RIMM versus AAPL: Which Stock Would You Buy For Your Investors?

The reason is clearly that the street thinks Apple is a better company that will execute it's iPhone strategy better than RIMM and hence make big inroads into their market share. This is why I like and bought Apple stock, (see details here ) and believe it is a $200 stock by the end of summer.

However if Apple missess forecasts or earnings then all bets are off and RIMM will surge. So buying RIMM now is a bet that Apple will fail. Otherwise go with the market.

RBC Analyst: Strong Demand for iPhone 2.0

I hope they hit $220. I bought them at $187 last week and am down about $1K so far. Holding on so far though. Should have bought some put options....the hype was too much.

Great info and the Apple iPhone and related technology providers are going to enjoy a nice run up over the next few months. I just bought Apple stock and am looking forward to see the (hopefully good) reactions next week.
