Is this an investing site or a place for place for whiners to complain about the governments they have elected (both Republican and Democrat)? What's the lesson for readers to learn? My takeaway is that you should watch for bubbles, invest on the way up and get the hell out when they pop. Try this same analysis from September 2002 to September 2007 and the headline would have been "Doubled in five years".

Good article. But consider this as well. With Uncle Sam owning 34% of the company, even with fickle politicians messing with the levers, don't you think Obama's a smart enough politician to want to try make sure the government gets a good return on his investment (he did in fact back off of the 90% bonus tax after after he let his liberal cohorts get some more populist support from their ranting and raving)? With such a highly motivated owner, who also holds the power to give Citi every competitive advantage over other firms with no government ownership, it may actually be a good thing to have Uncle Sammy as a fellow investor.
Google Increases Home Page Text by 33%. Are They Scared of Microsoft? [View article]
Its hard to believe all the hype about Bing the last few days. Today I met a conscious decision to use Bing instead of Google to do all the things I normally do with Google. To be fair, Bing is still in Beta mode, but based on my usage today, I found:
1) The image search was buggy and the definitions for various image sizes were ill conceived
2) The map functionality couldn't handle directions
3) The video search had broken links
4) The search engine repeated numerous results
Beta has a long way to go before being better than Google. So they'd better get busy before making Beta into Alpha.
