  • BYD: Great Company Will Come Out Stronger After A Little Glitch [View article]
what do you mean by $6 and $10.65?
In investments, it's hard to project timing, sometimes it takes years (5 years or more)... but as Charlie Munger is bullish, there is no reason for us not to follow him.

Yeah, Mungers involves with quite some publicly trade companies, but his main net worth stays at Berkshire Hathaway. Do not know whether Munger ever traded BYD on his own acct or anything, as if the transaction gets over some threshold, it needed to be reported.

  • Hewlett-Packard: An Opportunity Play On A Turnaround Plan [View article]
    Hi George,
That's true. Agree that 2012 and 2013 will be disappointing, I think investors need to hold HPQ for several years ìf they believe in the turnaround plan's success. The most dangerous to buy a stock is to buy it expensively when it's at the top of its performance.

That is right. Li Lu is managing Munger's money. I think the majority of Munger's net worth is tightened to Berkshire Hathaway's stock.

Thanks, could you please share your experience as well. You mean you were an insider in BYD? or any other public traded company if you don't mind to share.

Yes, I believed that Meg Whitman has capable hands to turn HPQ around. For the FCF basis, you can see it's a huge number after deducting capital expenditures, but if you deduct acquisitions investment out of FCF, it's negative figures.

HPQ can be an interesting play for investors, opportunistic type. I didn't purchase HPQ just because I am long other mispriced smaller cap opportunities.

I checked LL's % in BYD over several years, the number is consistent. So it means that LL didn't sell out. It is disclosed in BYD's annuals and quarterlies.

It is Munger's statement to have "a little more than half" invested in BYD. I think it is via Lu fund, not directly

It is my estimation based on the annual sales of Diapers and operating margin of personal care segment. I think it is only a temporary glitch.
