  • Last Call For Vietnam: Buy Now Or Be Sorry [View article]
Thanks man for this write-up. Vietnam equities have been trading at ridiculous low valuations ever. And i consider these are great opportunities for long-term and value investors. Of course, investors need to pick stocks carefully for good, sustainable businesses with cheap prices.

Thanks man. I wrote about this company on gurufocus when the stock was up north of $80... quite dangerous... What worries me the most is the debt level it carries and the high level of goodwill

  • Markets Should See An Upside From Greece's Bailout Package [View article]
Guys, of course it is not over yet.. But at least we see some commitment of joint-force of European members into rescuing European economy. Otherwise the domino effect will drag the whole zone to depression for even 10 years or more.

Little tangible book value, high burden of debt, but they got good brands and they are generating cash flow. But not at current $1.36 billion of enterprise value. In the short-term, the stock price might be up substantially, but I do not think it's the true value yet

sure, agree. would love to know more about the restatement scenario, how it affects strongly in financial statements do you think? i do not think the cash would be affected much though. however, the level of cash generation seems to be low compared to the debt it has

Hi Peter: it's hard to time the market though. So no need to ponder yourself too much. If we can time the market, we are all very wealthy by now. For Pharma sector, it's hard to know about their drug pipeline. As PFE just got their Lipitor patent expired, and when it was sold for $4, generic was sold for only 10 cents. But overall, for the pharma sector as a whole, it would be quite decent.

I would prefer the consumer goods which consistently produce the cash flow without much reinvesting back into the business for either PPE or R&D

That is the irrationality of the market. The cheaper we buy the better. So the down move in the stock price combines with the upward in business performance triggers long-term investors

@Peter: Thanks for the recommendation. VIVEF has grown its revenue consistently, along with its ability to cut costs. It has resulted in the increase in its operating income for the last 04 years. VIVEF got consistent positive operating cash flow as well. The current D/A is not so alarming. However, two things need to consider: 1) the revenue source, and 2) the maturity of its debt, to determine the consistency of its profitability and cash flow; and to understand the debt service ability better

@Cramer: Thanks for the news. Yes, when the competitor comes in, play aggressively by price cutting, it would pose the threat to existing players. As the commodity business, French Telecom has to respond accordingly. Now it is about the market share, market penetration, and expansion in other growing markets.
