I am a full-time investor. I learned finance the old-fashioned way, out of necessity, during a career in the film and entertainment industry. I prefer to focus on long-term macro economic trends and demographics. Having identified an invest theme, I look for companies that most nearly fit my thesis. Then it is time to switch hats and become a traditional value investor, to ensure that the security is investment worthy and has a reasonable margin of safety.
I am an investor relations consultant with nearly 30 years experience steering IR strategy and outreach for 100+ companies across a range of industries. We launched Catalyst Global in 2012 as a platform for innovating the IR role to better address the realities of small cap companies. We deliver senior level experience and counsel with targeted outreach and efficient communications to create real change and share price results for "smidcap" companies in today's markets.
Relationships and credibility take time - there is no shortcut - and are rooted in integrity, candor and a focus on ROI. I post on Seeking Alpha to expand the reach of client & other investments we like. In our view online networking of ideas is integral to the IR function - & fun!
CG Focus List is a separate service to highlight investments brought to us by really smart investors we know. Profiled companies can be clients, ex-clients, non-clients or desired clients - but they offer very attractive investment potential and commensurate risk (there's no free ride in investing!)
My posts are NOT endorsed by the subject companies - client or otherwise. We believe in truth and fair play at all times. Period, and we gravitate to those who share that view. Enjoy & be careful!
I am an active investor with a background in computer technology and internet start-ups. Interests include macro economics, demographics, risk management and hedging techniques, My investing strategy is growth at a reasonable price. My goal is to identify high growth companies, riding powerful demographic/macro trends, that are trading below their 5 year implied growth rate, and ideally hedging with pair trades.
