World Gold Council Report Indicates Favorable Gold Outlook [View article]
Re:davidli The chart sure looks reminiscent of March but i am really not concerned with the short term price fluctuations in the gold price...i feel the fundamental reasons to hold gold remain intact and until that scenario changes i will continue to hold the gold equities.
Goldcorp: There Are Better Ways To Play the Gold Boom [View article]
Re: mturner The $1.5 billion you are talking about is their debt facility. This is not what they have in the bank ...it is the amount of debt/credit they can take on. Regarding company cash flows and debt, goldcorp said: "We think that our cash flows, like I say, we have about $700 million, $800 million coming into the treasury as we speak, we have about $700 million of odd debt, so I’m starting from a point today of net debt and we have a strong cash flow, so depending on commodity prices, we probably don’t have any debt outstanding at year-end. "
Kal Energy: A Smallcap Start to the Coal Stock Boom [View article]
Hello subkot The takeover price for kal energy will probably depend on when it gets taken over, if taken over before production begins ..then i would expect a 20-30% premium and if taken over during production would think it deserves a higher premium like 30-40%. Keep in mind that this is just speculation.
Hey Unsondl and thomas blakeslee Regarding the hidden costs of coal, i can only say that cleaner technolgoies are being developed everyday and even though we can utilize some of these cleaner technologies for coal today they do come at a higher price point. However, i beleive that this is a supply/demand sotry and when China switched from being an exporter to an importer, i became a coal beleiver. Unsondl, i know nuclear energy is in vogue now but there is currently a supply demand crunch in that sector (lots of demand and no supply) and so i'm afraid that gap will have to be filled by using cheap thermal coal.
Scotia Bank: Precious Metal Outlook Mixed [View article]
If i were to bet...i would bet on gold moving higher short term. Why,....as tensions continue to escalate between the U.S. and China (U.S. bringing WTO action against China), people will look to hedge against downside in the U.S. dollar. This benefits gold.
