I confirmed this with AMD directly.

The roadmap that you just posted is fake, FYI, which AMD also confirmed.

7th Gen APUs aren't Zen -- only the FX chips are.

TVs are a notoriously low margin business. Doubt Apple is going to enter it.

"Not to mention, TSMC, STM, Samsung and GF have all caught up with the manufacturing process. Right about now, they must be wishing they went the same route as AMD w.r.t. fabs."

Whaaat? STM just announced that after 14nm, they're done with logic processes. TSMC's 16FF+ won't go into production for a few more months at least, and Intel's process is denser and from what I can sell much higher performing.

Samsung's 14nm is being used to build the Exynos 7420 at the moment at what are likely very poor yields. Samsung's 14nm technology is a little denser than TSMC's, but still behind Intel's in terms of both density and most likely performance.

Intel also gets a very nice cost structure leg up, and the ability to tune its processes exactly to what it needs thanks to owning its own fabs and processes.

But yeah, I guess Intel wishes it were standing in line at a third party foundry waiting to get dibs on highly in-demand leading edge capacity that's less sophisticated than what Intel itself ultimately developed. Right.

The only x86-based Zen coming in 2016 is the high end desktop chip with lots of cores. The APUs (mainstream desktops, laptops) won't come until 2017.

No Zen-based APUs until 2017? Guess those 14/16-nanometer chips will go up against not Skylake, but Cannonlake.
