    • Mark Hartner: Agreed. It isn't just the $1.2B verdict, but the ongoing royalty. Jury is basically awarding 50 cents per HD controller chip sold in future.

    • Ashraf Eassa: Yeah. This cripples Marvell's competitive position against LSI in what is essentially a commodity disk controller market.

    • Mark Hartner: CMU may go after LSI now. Based on court filings I read, LSI is not licensing these patents either. High likelyhood LSI also infringes.
