After finishing two Bachelor's degrees, Mathematics & Economics, I started a career in sales and eventually started my own consulting firm. There's an urban myth that Einstein said the most powerful force in the universe is compounding [interest]. A college class on theory of interest and an actuarial science concentration set the stage for my investment interests. I've just recently become interested in dividend growth investing and have found this to be a very helpful website.
Individual investor interested in dividend growth stocks and building an income producing portfolio to cover my yearly expenses. I tend to concentrate my efforts on stocks which grow earnings and dividends, which provides outstanding total returns over time. My primary focus is to invest in companies that pay substantial and growing dividends, with solid balance sheets and strong cash flows, that are trading at or under my calculated intrinsic value for the company. Capital appreciation is of secondary concern but still important.
I am a Civil Engineer with a Master's in Structural Design, by profession, but my career was spent in various capacities in Information Technology.
I am a semi retired Petroleum/drilling Eng. I am Canadian. I have been oversees for several years, making my home wherever I spot my knapsack, mostly it has been in north Italia, hiking and skiing country. At the moment my home base in Kiev, Ukraina.
My goal is to live off growth from my few hard earned savings by investing in equities.
My objectives are:
I live in Texas. I worked in Grocery management for 8 years. Distibution Supervisor at Microsoft for a couple years. I currently work as a secretary for the last 13 years, we buy and sell wrecked vehicles--as is. I am 48, have two grown kids, a grandson(5), a grand daughter(3.) I hope to work another 15 to 20 years. I also receive a pension. My hobbies are: Mountian bike riding, gardening, baking cookies(only in winter months), enjoying family and friends. I have 3 dogs and 1 cat.
My investment goals are to create a stream of monthly income with my investments. I do not currently plan to use them for retirement income, more for enjoyment or assist with finances later in life.
