I like HCP & have written about it. It has a high yield for an REIT & is a rare REIT that kept raising dividends a few years ago when many of the mightiest cut dividends. Also, in taxable accounts a portion of dividends are not taxable or taxed at capital gains rates

  • After 4 Challenging Years, MLPs Remain Excellent Long Term Buys [View article]
I pasted part of a press release below: ENB & EPD are building this leg. Keep in mind that EEP pipelines bring oil from Canada to Cushing Ok, so EEP will benefit. Also EEP & ENB are very much connected with ENB owning a good 25% of EEP.

    * Sees 250,000 bpd of Seaway Pipeline capacity by yearend

    * Sees pipelines constrained by 2017

    * Says Northern Gateway may provide some relief

    By Julie Gordon

TORONTO, June 18 (Reuters) - Enbridge Inc, Canada's No. 2 pipeline company, expects to complete an expansion of its newly reversed oil pipeline to Texas refineries by the end of this year, the company's incoming chief executive said on Monday.

That would be sooner than previous forecasts used by the company and its U.S. partner.

Enbridge and Enterprise Products Partners LP have been saying for months that they would boost the capacity of the Seaway pipeline from the Cushing, Oklahoma, storage hub to 400,000 barrels a day from 150,000 sometime in the first quarter of next year.

It is one of a number of pipeline projects aimed at curing a bottleneck at the massive pipeline hub, which is expected to reduce deep price discounts for oil that travels there from rapidly expanding U.S. and Canadian oil fields.

"We expect to bring another 250,000 barrels a day of capacity by the end of this year. But at some point, when we twin that Seaway line, we'll start to see a relaxing of this basis differential between Cushing and the Gulf Coast," Enbridge President Al Monaco told reporters following a speech in Toronto.

    Holthusen,

The reports I read say that ENB (the parent & general partner of EEP) is doing the Seaway project. But it should end the oil bottleneck in Cushing, OK, which will help EEP move more oil from Canada to Cushing. As you said, EEP is investing heavily in Bakken region.

You have to decide what price is right today. I bought years ago at a price under $20. Then I quibbled over a few pennies in the stock price. Today, I can't tell you those exact numbers. My focus in the article was its long term "vision" for more growth from expanding product lines and growing volume in countries which are just learning about their drinks. Good luck & hope you like Diet Coke,

Good catch, millions & billions look alike after awhile. Of course 200M shares mean $300M in dividend payments.

On the negative book value, equity includes $4.5B of treasury stock.

Since EEQ doesn't pay money dividends, it should have a lower value than EEP. KMR typically sells at 10% discount from the KMP price. I've followed EEQ for years & it usually sells at 1-3% above the EEP price.
