  • TEVA Acquisition Of Mylan Would Produce Generic Powerhouse [View article]
    Thanks for the thorough article!

I'm considering buying some MYL with the hope of ultimately ending up with an investment in a bigger and better TEVA.

  • Mylan commences formal offer for Perrigo [View news story]
Do some math and stop chugging down red bulls...the value of the acquisition is already over $220 /share based on the share price of MYL.

  • DryShips to sell tankers in separate deals [View news story]
    Noob,

Selling the tankers was the way to go considering the ABN AMRO and Ocean Rig loans they need to payoff. Better than issuing more shares at under $1 and better to sell your assets that have a jump in value (tanker values have risen since the oil crash) than sell your depressed assets (like the bulk carriers or ORIG stake).

As far as a selling price for the Suezmax ships: $245 million means they are selling each vessel for $61.25 million, which is something like 50% higher than average selling prices a year ago. Whether that is a fair price for today is debatable, but I think the timing is good overall. For a general view of shipping asset prices you can check out these indices:

  • Navidea's Macrophage Therapeutics Gets A $2.5 Million Vote Of Confidence [View article]
I think the short thesis is still that LS revenue takes too long to balance with cash burn and there is another capital raise. Frankly, last quarter's results were not very good in that department.

I agree though, there is much more risk for shorts here. There are a lot of potential catalysts for a strong move up that will hopefully unfold sooner than later. Looking forward to hearing management on Monday.

Right, $2 M for total revenue includes grant monies. I doubt they match last quarter but should still be significant.

  • Update: Kratos Continues To Receive Significant New Orders For Drones And Other Products [View article]
Kratos is not cheap when you look at its debt load. Just compare EV/EBITDA to peers.

The author should also take a look at the company's last earnings call transcript, not much there to inspire confidence in the near term. Management is worried that the number of contracts being contested could continue to delay realizing revenue from awarded projects.

  • Kratos: At Just $5, This Drone And Defense Stock Is Giving Investors A Half-Off Sale [View article]
I looked into Kratos a while ago because there were some bullish analyst comments about it.

The problem for me is that their balance sheets and cash flows are showing some really poor trends: declining cash position, declining stockholder equity, negative FCF. They hold more in goodwill on the balance sheet than they do in equity.

That's not to say that this company can't end up thriving, but it's highly speculative at this point and definitely not deserving of a P/E even close to Lockheed Martin.

    Just my 2 cents.

  • Smith & Wesson: The Mystifying And Expensive Acquisition Of Battenfeld Technologies, Inc. [View article]
SWHC trades for about an EV/Rev of 1 and EV/EBITDA of 4 and made an acquisition at at an EV/Rev of 2.5 and EV/EBITDA of 9. It seems pretty obvious that they should have been able to find a better use for capital than that...

  • Navidea Biopharm beats by $0.01, beats on revenue [View news story]
Guided to $4 M LS revenue for 2014, which is low. And nothing new to report in terms of partnerships for the neuro imaging agents--the company needs these to advance the pipeline while keeping cash burn on budget.

  • Uranium Energy Soars On Hype: Danger Of A Significant Pullback [View article]
The positive fundamentals you refer to are recited everywhere and, in my opinion, uranium stocks largely reflect that.

Much less discussed are the headwinds still ahead: Japanese oversupply, mothballed projects that are no longer adding supply but which will come online when the price looks like it will turn, and the ever-present risk of future nuclear events like Fukushima or further political opposition.

Completely agree with you, Swiss Maven.

I wrote a negative article the day that UEC had a huge turnaround and ran up from about 1.10. It made made me look pretty foolish, but the cash position is too precarious to think they won't have an equity offering in the near future.

Any potential investors should examine their cash position and expenses first. Link to my article: http://bit.ly/1iMs5BG

  • Why I Shorted InvenSense Inc. [View article]
It's a bit odd that you included the background on the company's products but then based your analysis pretty much exclusively on the earnings report and price movement. I can follow your reasoning based on the reported numbers, but then I don't really need to know anything about accelerometers or the products they show up in to do so. As it is, this article is really a quantitative screen--which is fine.

It just doesn't make much sense to rundown its products and then not talk about them qualitatively, about industry competition, or about product adoption. Just my 2 cents.

Long INVN, thinking that any new customer announcements will see a pop in share price.

All I can say is that at $30 spot price, UEC isn't rallying on uranium pricing...

I wasn't citing a specific source, but reports like the following: http://reut.rs/1eyNoIz

"We would not expect an immediate price rebound to pre-Fukushima levels as Japanese utilities have at least two to three years' worth of uranium inventory and only around a dozen reactors are likely to be restarted in 2014-2015. But we believe that spot prices could rise to about USD40-USD45/lb in 2014, the estimated median level of uranium cash production costs worldwide."
