  • Apple: What's The New Price Target? [View article]
The margins in the smartphone industry are changing pretty quickly.
    1) The Gross Margin decreased from 42.8% in the previous quarter to 40% in the quarter ended September. The margins for iPhone 4s were just shy of 58% and the numbers for the current quarter reflect that margins for iPhone 5 could be as low as 50%.
    2) We believe the margins for the iPad series would be below 30% in the coming quarters i.e. 28%-30%. These margins had been in the range of 30%-35% previously.

For Nokia and Rimm we are using estimates of 2013/14 assuming sales would rebound by then

  • Down In Its Own Rubble; The Sorry State Of J.C. Penney [View article]
Removing sales/coupons has proved to be the worst idea for JCP. This drove many customers towards competitors which made things worse off during restructuring. This is one reason why we doubt a fair
performance of JCP in the future and therefore stand by a short position.

  • An Opportunity To Buy First Solar At Cheap Valuations [View article]
Thank You for liking our work. Our purpose is to provide analysis that can help you in investment decisions. Yes, it is trading at low multiples and has a great potential to show a significant upside. We have calculated 12-month target price of $97 with a considerable upside of 320 percent. Moreover, we believe company is in a strong position to win high growth projects after the U.S anti-dumping polices on Chinese solar companies. Thanks

  • 2 Copper Stocks To Buy: 1 For Dividends, 1 For Growth [View article]
Its not. we clearly mentioned that few times. For instance:
they should not expect this high dividend yield to continue. In 2010, the company paid total dividends in north of $1.5 per share and in 2011 the total dividends were near $2.5 per share. In 2012, the total dividends paid increased to more than $3.7 (trailing twelve months yield near is near 10%).

  • The Vringo Vs. Google Verdict: Did Vringo Investors Win As Well? [View article]
That's a good point. We just wanted to discount the revenue stream to see what could be the impact. If you consider tax, legal fee etc the stock price should be lower. Once, there is a ruling and the royalties are clearer we will do an update on NPV. Thanks

  • The Vringo Vs. Google Verdict: Did Vringo Investors Win As Well? [View article]
There is still no confirmation on the news that it was a mistake and if it can be reversed. If it was a mistake and CAN be reversed (we believe the current decision would stand), it could lead to a per share impact of $2.1 without the tax affect which will be significant. Probably $1.3 after tax. However, there is no confirmation that of this being an error.
