  • Dendreon Getting Better, But Don't Celebrate Just Yet [View article]
    What math are you using?

They beat by 2.62%, and that was after a nearly $9 million hit in Q4 estimates, just since the Q3 report. Q4 estimates were even higher earlier in 2013.

Have a bunch of capital in another trade, once out of that I will re-evaluate my position on DNDN.

Dendreon does have a ton of potential - but the bull camp seems to think every tiny step makes this name worth billions of dollars. Honestly, this company is one or two bad quarters away from being in serious financial trouble if they don't raise cash.

Like I said, it is a small step for now that needs a follow up going forward.

One analyst says the stock is worth $0. Shorting from $3 to $2 for instance can be as lucrative as shorting something from $150 to $100. Just a point to consider.

The point about the previous comment was that I already stated the information in the article, which yes, was from the press release. There wasn't a need for it to be re-posted in the comments. It's already there.

I'll address those points for you:

I started recommending shorting this name around $14.00, and it has been a winning trade since then.

Am not short Dendreon right now.

If there is so much value in all of Dendreon, why hasn't there been a buyout already? Why did someone not buy this name a year ago when expectations were for nearly double the revenue number in 2013?

The problem is that if the company doesn't have enough cash, the business can't run. I have not personally said this name will go bankrupt, but I do believe they could use some more cash, through an equity offering that would be a bit dilutive.

So basically, you just reposted the same thing that you posted in my other article, and everything I said in this article already.

We know the Q4 facts, I laid them all out.

It's not going to triple overnight, and with all of the extra costs associated, a buyout may not fetch more than $5 potentially.

This isn't an argument over whether or not the drug works. The argument here is financial, and so far, Dendreon doesn't get a passing grade.

  • Tesla: Is Another Major Short Squeeze Coming? [View article]
A chunk of the last rise was due to a squeeze. You don't go from $35 to nearly $200 on just a fundamental rise.

Still not implemented, account numbers not great, revenues still low, cash did drop a bit. Lots of questions remain. Good report, but not great.

  • PC Shipments Reported By Gartner Suggest Intel Will Beat The Street In Q4 [View article]
If they are going to raise it, it would probably be this quarter - which sets them up to be on a calendar cycle where they can raise it every january.

Up until a couple of years ago, the raises were announced in late January, usually a week or so AFTER the earnings report. So I wouldn't panic if they don't announce it with the earnings. Question is do they raise it a week later, or maintain it?

  • Google May Be The Most Overrated Stock [View article]
As I've pointed out to many others - TSLA, CRM may be overvalued, but I don't consider them that overrated.

Google can't do ANYTHING wrong it seems. Even when they miss, analysts quickly come out and defend them. Some of those others do actually get punished at times for missing.

Probably should change the ticker too to align with the new corporate name, if approved. The current ticker is based on the current name...

    Couple of things.

    1. Growth in the single digits, as I mentioned above, is the ANALYST estimate for this fiscal year.

    2. Dollar value growth has plummeted. That's a fact. $1.29 billion in fiscal 2011, $1.21 billion in fiscal 2012, and just $499 million in fiscal 2013. There is no debate here.

    3. 95% growth to roughly 10% in three years. Maybe I should say growth story has crumbled - it will pick up again once they decide to bolster international operations for now, but until then, yes, growth has crumbled in both percentage and dollar terms.
