"Everyone knows the difference in size between BBRY and AAPL".

I'm not quite sure about that, given the comments I usually see on my BBRY articles. The fanboys make it seem like this company is a powerhouse.

That's why I put the comparison in, to spread a dose of reality.

No, he didn't say that revenues would fall off a cliff in Q3. He also didn't give guidance for less than $800 million.

If you turn down deals, those potential buyers will go elsewhere. They won't necessarily come back to you later.

Again, when revenues are down 80% plus, you shouldn't be bragging about turning down potential customers.

Actually, those that have positions don't necessarily treat research as seriously, because it potentially clouds their judgement. Look at how Michael Blair continues to forecast pie in the sky numbers for the company since he is long.

So a fake profit is important, but a revenue miss the size of the grand canyon is not?

Well everyone has been hyping the Passport and it seems that sales have not been that great overall.

The problem is that analysts have been cutting estimates for months and BlackBerry still cannot meet them.

This was an earnings wrap up, it was not a short idea. BlackBerry missed tremendously on revenues, that is a fact.

Partnerships aren't a be all end all. Green Mountain Coffee has announced dozens of partnerships in recent years and it really has not helped revenue growth that much.

BlackBerry doesn't provide numerical guidance. He also did not say that revenues would tank quarter to quarter.

I rather would have seen $850 million in revenues and say a penny loss.

Well when you don't provide actual financial guidance, analysts have to model in the dark.

I've covered Chen a bit in previous articles. BlackBerry is still around 50% hardware and that % might go up with these phone launches, so it still has a lot of hardware business at the moment.

The article was to show where estimates and the stock are right now, as we approach earnings, to update investors from my previous articles on the name.

I talked up Apple because it is one of the major reasons for BBRY's downturn, and the Apple talk wasn't a large part of this article. Apple wasn't even given a secondary ticker so that should tell you something.
