Bill Powers is editor of the Powers Energy Investor, a subscription based newsletter which provides readers with a candid perspective of the industry and identifies quality, undervalued investment opportunities in the energy sector.
Bill’s previous publications, the Canadian Energy Viewpoint and US Energy Investor provided insight into over 65 stocks. During their time of coverage, 28 of the companies returned over 50%, 17 returned between 100% and 700%, and one stock returned over 1,000%. In February 2004, Bill accurately predicted the rise of oil to over $50 a barrel and in November 2004, that the price of oil would rise over $80 a barrel.
Bill analysis style is fundamental. He uses both primary and secondary research to identify small, mid and large-sized exploration and production (E&P) firms with outstanding value propositions, experienced management, strong balance sheets and growing production. With alternative energy becoming an increasingly important part of the world’s energy supply, Bill also considers established and early stage alternative energy companies worldwide.
For disclosure, Bill receives no compensation, shares, options or warrants from the companies he covers. He discloses his shareholding position on companies included in the newsletter.
Bill holds a BS degree in Finance from Georgetown University, Washington DC.
