BioShockers.com is a recently created biotech investing website that is focused on finding high-potential, low-price, and legitimate biotech/pharma companies. The great majority of stocks we will do write-ups on will be on one of three exchanges, NASDAQ, AMEX, or NYSE. Occasionally, we will alert an OTC:BB stock only if we think it has promise. We will seldom alert pink sheet stocks here -- many of them are extremely volatile, and some illegitimate. Before you open a position in any stock that we trade/alert, please read our disclaimer below: BioShockers.com is not to be held responsible for any loss (or profit) associated with stocks mentioned. Under no circumstances will BioShockers.com be ...More held liable for losses incurred due to information presented anywhere on this site. The information we post on stocks is provided as an information service only - a starting point for your own research. The accuracy or completeness of the information we provide is not warranted and is only as reliable as the sources from which it was obtained. I am currently a pharmacist with a strong interest in stock investing, business and finance. Of course, biotech and healthcare sectors are my favorite ones.
Before I read the financial statements of a biotech company, I like to critically evaluate their drug portfolio (i.e. knowing the pharmacology of the drug, interpreting the clinical trial data and methodology, etc) and how it will come to play in a macro-perspective (implications between the patient-provider-payor-institution).
Retired from engineering/management since 1997. Largely biotech, but some other stocks and real estate investor for over 25 years. Enjoy skiing, sailing, sports. I enjoy the role of Devil's Advocate, so some of what I say may be to provoke discussion, and may not reflect my actual opinion.
I'm currently undergoing treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. I had planed to be skiing now, but sometimes life gets in the way of your plans. While I'm confident of achieving remission, I intend to be very critical of the FDA for the way drug testing is done. I'm strongly in favor of streamlining the clinical trial process, especially when related to drugs for potentially terminal diseases. I am scheduled for stem cell transplantation late this month (4/15).
Have been an investor for 60 years. Last 20 years have concentrated on biotechs. Have been senior exec with Shell and ITT before retiring 30+ years ago. My working areas were finance, informatics and international management. Taught MBA courses in management, informatics and communications. Speak French and Spanish plus some German.
I am a value investor to the greatest extent possible. I also favor dividend stocks. I try to be a buy-and-hold investor, but sometimes I can't avoid the tempation to ring the register or to accumulate the inevitable tax loss. The main thing I have learned is that I have lost more money by selling too soon than for any other reason. I reside in Henderson, NV.
I am an IT consultant by profession. I have strong interest in the Market and have been investing in US markets since 1995. My experience has taught me a lot over the years. I have two fold investment strategy one to invest in good stocks at good value/technical entry points and also invest some capital (play money) on quick trades days or weeks depending on technical setups. I primarily use levered ETF's to do follow my swing trade system. I am not a good writer so I only make small comments on others blogs.
