  • Yellen Hit It Out Of The Park [View article]
So the dollar is too strong, but Yellen is going to raise rates to make the dollar even more attractive?

  • FOMC drops "patient," but sends dovish signal [View news story]
    Can't tell if serious.

In 2008, the Fed should have let the market clear instead of saving the weak and blowing the bubble even bigger.

  • FOMC drops "patient," but sends dovish signal [View news story]
It's simply laughable that anyone thought the 2015 median "dot" was going to be 1.125%.

ZIRP forever. The Fed is trapped with no ways out but lots of pain.

  • Awilco Drilling - Best Of A Bad Bunch? [View article]
"Hess is currently working to subcontract the rig understanding a rig with 99% uptime from a low cost contractor is a partner you want to keep operating. "

That doesn't make sense. They want to keep it but are looking to sublet it? They are trying to sublet it because they don't have work for it or want to pay for it! Hess can't end the contract without likely paying the remainder of the contract off, so they are trying to dump it on someone else.

  • Fed's Evans in no hurry to hike [View news story]
Why do rates need to go up? Why would Congress want to force the Fed to hike? Politicians don't intentionally make stupid moves like that which will get them blamed for the consequences. The US economy, stock market, emerging markets, etc will be absolutely crushed with any meaningful rate increase.

  • India cuts rates; stocks hit record highs [View news story]
Race to zero. This is why the Fed meaningfully raising interest rates is a joke.

  • Lumber Liquidators +10% in comeback bid [View news story]
Lack of victims? That's because folks don't know these Chinese floors are releasing formaldehyde into their household air. How much of this crap has LL sold?

Lawsuits and inventory writedowns are coming. California is likely to come down on them hard especially for labeling products CARB compliant that actually were not.

Who is going to buy the Chinese junk anymore? Not anyone who watched or heard about the 60 Minutes piece. All of that inventory is worthless. How much do they have on the books?

Based on the founder's dodging/indirect answering of questions on the 60 Minutes piece and the factory worker's comments, I think it's safe to say LL likely knew about this and did it to try and save a buck.

This story is only getting started.

  • Exxon said to plan $7B bond sale in its biggest-ever deal [View news story]
Protection of principal with virtually guaranteed income with the bond. Stock market is juiced up on easy Fed money. Can that go on forever? Maybe maybe not.

Why do you think rates are going up? Look at rates around the world. Lower than US rates. Still plenty of room to fall.

  • Forget Biased Analysts, Diabetics Love MannKind's Afrezza [View article]
Why would Afrezza be good for T1? Seems like most of these folks likely already have an insulin pump. They still have to have long acting insulin. Why deal with the hassle of inhaling instead of using the pump?
