  • Thinking Of Timing The Market? [View article]
@Change, I do believe you have missed the point of the article, or misunderstand what we do, or both.

Sticking with your analogy, our suggestion isn't to not listen to your dog. It's the opposite. If you like and trust your dog, listen to it! Our suggestion is that you shouldn't stop hunting just because people tell you the hunting season is no good.

@Intact - each is obviously different. They are fairly simply constructed strategies following certain common methods. I can't go through each of them here, but they are available to be reviewed through our service (which has a free trial option). The point is, though, the strategies are concentrated in the best stocks of that particular strategy, and not an just pure beta.

To be clear, we don't offer investment in any particular funds. We offer the tools to build, test, implement and manage a user-defined strategy. However, we do showcase a number of these model strategies as either a starting point, a simple solution, or an example.

  • Building A Smarter Low Beta Portfolio [View article]
With the minimum 5yr EPS growth rate changed to 5% only 3 stocks change (LOPE, ICUI, LH instead of UTMD, CLX, NATH)

However, the big difference is that increasing the minimum EPS growth rate in the strategy has the side effect of increasing the average portfolio beta over the past 25 years and decreasing the average return.

Actually 0% is correct. The screen filters companies that have shown no EPS growth. Currently there are over 1000 domestically traded equities that have negative 5yr EPS growth.
