ABOUT
Bob holds his Certification in Financial Planning with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, having been certified in 1986.
Not only an advocate on behalf of his clients, he has also been a leader in his profession. At the local level, Bob joined the Northern New Jersey Board of the International Association for Financial Planning (IAFP) in 1986 as Director of Marketing. That quickly lead to his being nominated as President-Elect in 1987, followed by three terms as the Chapter President in 1988, 1989 and 1990.
In 1993 he was elected to the National Board of Directors of the IAFP where he served until the organizations merger with the Institute of Certified Financial Planners (ICFP) in ...More 2000. Bob was one of the eight nationally chosen members (4 from the IAFP and 4 from the ICFP) to negotiate the merger of the country’s two largest and most prominent professional organizations.
During his tenure on the IAFP National Board, he served in many capacities including three years as Chairman of the Ethics Committee and two more years as its Board liaison. In addition, Bob Chaired the National Board's Strategic Advisory Council and spent two years on the IAFP National Board’s Executive Committee.
In 2000, the merger of the IAFP and ICFP was complete and The Financial Planning Association (FPA) was formed. Not one to rest on his laurels, Bob was nominated to serve as the FPA’s first elected National President in 2002 and served as its National Chairman in 2003.
He has spoken on financial planning and financial planning related topics both domestically and internationally. He has been quoted in many major publications including Kiplinger's Personal Finance, Wealth Manager Magazine, The Journal of Financial Planning and the Wall Street Journal. He has also appeared on CNBC, CNN and Fox Television. His international speaking and writing include both the Japanese Association for Financial Planning, the Brazilian Association for Financial Planning and the Korean Journal for Financial Planning.
In 2010, Bob was approved as a resident “Expert” by the Life Tuner web portal, a program for financial well-being sponsored by AARP.
