Nice to know I'm not alone. Actually I think J.D. Welch did write something about losing money on options and if so he would be the first.
Of course I've yet to hear from someone who is a true Dividend Growth investor who has complained about losing their shirt.
Hey we can't understand options but we've got a pretty solid handle on the fundamentals of Dividend Growth Investing. Since I'm not a gambler I take the latter and maybe another cold one for good measure. I'm going have to get my own Percy one of these days.

I own two frozen angels Payx and RDS.A. Happy with both. Stuff happens...even to companies. Now dividend cuts are a whole different story. Wouldn't even consider GE or U.S. Banks for that reason.

I too many a similar transition last year. We have inflation adjusted pensions so we don't have bond fund or preferreds.
This will be the first year I formally track the month by month dividend payments. My portfolio averages a 5 year Dividend Growth Rate of over !0%. It will be interesting to see how it comes out this year in a real portfolio....mine.

I too haved tried limit orders again when to close is very close to my target price and I'm going out for awhile.

i appreciate your stopping by. The short answer is I can't use what I don't understand. The language surrounding options confuses me about the third or fourth sentence. Some of the comments I've received on this might as well be in Greek for all I can understand. I'm sure its just me and my problem. I'm not a trader so trading options just doesn't feel right to me at the gut level. No one to date has been able to dummy down the process to where I can understand it.
