  • Desperately Seeking Yield Through Equities: Part 11 - Strategies For An Economic Downturn [View article]
Appreciate the lesson in German history. It may be useful to many so it is only wasted on me. You do not address the present anti-Keynesian policies they follow... and I still do not know whether you are a Keynesian or not... and whether you have ever read von Mises, Schumpeter, Hayek etc. And if you did what you think of them. Do you think that their theories are the equivalent of the theory of the phlogistone in explaining the burning process?

What if the Europeans (e.g. the Germans under Merkel) have it right this time around and we in the Anglo-Saxon world have it wrong? It seems to me to be an issue of Keynesianism run amock in America (and England). But the Germans are known to be great at shooting themselves in the foot. They forced Merkel to close down 7 nuclear power stations and may topple her down in 2013. The question is whether the Socialists who will follow will be of the Schroeder persuation or Willy Brandt-type. And also whether she with her Dutch buddies will be able to resist the tsunami of the Southern Europeans... Curious to hear your opinion on this.
I am long on NLY only in your list and consider PM...
